Spelljammer Campaign Setting

First introduced back in 1989, the long rumoured Spelljammer campaign setting is finally coming to 5th edition. It joins the likes of the Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, Eberron and Theros but Spelljammer seems to be unlike anything Wizards have released before. This bundle will include 3, 64 page, hardcover books; Astral Adventurer’s Guide, Boo’s Astral Menagerie and Light of Xaryxis. It also comes with a DM’s screen and a map, all bundled in a slipcase.
The Astral Adventurer’s Guide will include information about creating adventures in Spelljammer including 6 new playable races; Astral Elves, Giff, Thri-Keen, Autognomes, Hadozee and Plasmoids. Boo’s Astral Menagerie details new creatures that can be encountered in Realmspace like vampirates, space dragons and space clowns. Light of Xaryxis will take players on a 12 episode adventure through Realmspace, each one with a cliffhanger that all ties together in the final episode.
Spelljammer: Adventures in Space is available for pre-order right now and will be released on the 16th August 2022 for $69.99 from Amazon.
Dragonlance Adventure and Board Game

Spelljammer isn’t the only setting to finally be getting represented in 5e this year. Wizards have also announced a new adventure in the Dragonlance setting called Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen. Alongside this will be a brand new board game that will be narratively linked with the adventure and will operate as a wargame with RPG elements.
No official date has been announced for this new adventure and board game, but we do know it will be arriving in late 2022.
Dungeons & Dragons Movie: Honor Among Thieves gets title and release date
We’ve been hearing rumblings about a D&D movie for some time now with Chris Pine, Hugh Grant and Justice Smith attached and directed by D&D aficionados; John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. The movie will be called “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” and will be released 3rd March 2023. More will be revealed about the movie in the future.
Baldur’s Gate 3 gets a development update
Baldur’s Gate 3, the long-awaited sequel in the Baldur’s Gate series by Larian Studios got a progress update with a rough probable release date of 2023 given for the game. The game continues to be playable in early access form and is regularly undergoing updates to improve the game.
Campaign cases, starter set and new miniatures
In a packed direct, Wizards also announced new carry cases, tokens, tiles, a simplified digital starter set and new miniatures from Wizkids to go alongside the Spelljammer campaign setting. These miniatures include gargantuan monsters and interchangeable that can double up as 2 miniatures. Wizkids also announced a new 1v1 skirmish game with miniatures called D&D Onslaught where players will fight groups of rival adventurers, monsters and hunt through dungeons for treasure.
