Riot your emotions! It’s the Mistborn setting release day for the Cosmere RPG.
It’s been 2 years since the Cosmere RPG kickstarter launched and broke multiple crowdfunding records. For those of us that backed the Kickstarter, we’re now at the end of our journey (and the beginning of our journey into the Mistborn setting). That’s because digital copies are launching for all Kickstarter backers today (2nd September 2026)!
If you weren’t part of the original Kickstarter, I’m afraid you will have to wait a bit longer before you can get your hands on the Mistborn setting, but not by a lot. For all of you, digital release will occur on the 9th September 2026 (just a week later). It will be available in PDF form from DriveThruRPG as well as on VTTs including Foundry, Fantasy Grounds and Roll20/Demiplane.
Not only that, but physical fulfillment for Kickstarter backers has already begun with Bridge 4% (the backers that received their Stormlight books last) have had their delivery expedited and are already receiving their physical copies. Fulfillment should occur throughout September and October depending on where in the world you live and how quickly fulfillment centres can process deliveries. For those that didn’t back the Kickstarter, physical copies will head to retail at some point in November 2026.

Physical backers will eventually get a few extras depending on what they ordered like dice and a GM screen.
Mistborn Handbook
This contains all the rules you need for playing the Cosmere RPG in the Mistborn setting. It also includes all the Mistborn character options including; 8 new heroic specialties, 5 metalborn paths, 34 metallic arts, 2 new ancestries in the Kandra and Koloss-blooded as well as firearms, hemalurgy and more.
Mistborn World Guide
This is the lore book. It details out the world of Scadriel including its history, geography and magic system covering both eras 1 and 2 from the novels. It also has stat blocks and information about the adversaries you’ll face on Scadriel. In between that wealth of information is a ton of stunning artwork that brings the setting to life as well.
Mistborn Legacy
This is an official adventure campaign that you can play in the Mistborn setting. It somehow spans both eras of Mistborn where you’ll play as different characters in each era, but the decisions you make in era 1 will directly affect what occurs for your characters in era 2. How that occurs remains a mystery (for now), but you can expect to play across levels 1-6 in era 1 and levels 3-9 in era 2.
Mistborn legacy also comes with a bunch of visual aids like tokens, maps, player handouts, visual aids, a key scene summary, event tracker and more.
Welcome to Scadriel
Finally, there’s a shorter 28 page booklet that’s a spoiler free intro to the world of Scadriel. This is ideal to hand out to players to give some context to the world of Scadriel before they jump into a campaign.
