Kobold Press has brought one of its most well regarded releases to D&D Beyond. The Northlands Bundle, combining the Northlands Worldbook and Northlands Sagas into a single package, is now available on the D&D Beyond marketplace, giving players and DMs full access to a large frostbound setting with complete character builder integration.
The bundle is priced at $69.99, representing a saving over purchasing the two books separately at $39.99 each.
What is the Northlands Bundle?
The Northlands Bundle brings together two complementary books. The Northlands Worldbook is a full campaign setting overlay for D&D 5.5e, built around Norse myth. The Northlands Sagas is an 11 adventure compendium that forms a complete campaign from levels 1 to 12, set in the same world.
Together they offer everything a group needs to run a full Norse-flavoured campaign from start to finish, or take individual elements into an existing game.
What’s in the Northlands Worldbook?
The Worldbook is the setting and player option resource for the Northlands. It covers fully fleshed out locations including the Realm of Bears and the Kingdoms of the Giants and also introduces expanded rules for sailing, ship battles, rune magic, fate mechanics and more.
The headline content includes:
- 8 new subclasses, including the Nornbound Cleric and Trickster Warlock
- 9 new playable species, including giantkin and bearfolk
- Over 80 new weapons, spells, and magic items
- 50 or more new monsters
- 9 distinct factions to navigate
- New downtime systems and a prophecy generator
All player facing content is integrated into the D&D Beyond character builder, so character creation and session prep should be easy for groups already using the platform.
What’s in Northlands Sagas?
Northlands Sagas is the adventure side of the bundle, an 11 adventure collection that takes a party from level 1 to level 12. The adventures are designed around the themes of the setting, with standout set pieces including scaling the World Tree, making defences against a giant army and racing to prevent the release of a world eating wolf.
The book also includes legendary locations, NPCs, mounts, ships, and god-related set pieces.
Is it worth it?
At $69.99 for both books, the bundle saves you $9.99 compared to buying them separately, which is a modest but worthwhile saving if you are planning to pick up both. The D&D Beyond integration is the main draw for players, especially if they have gotten used to that convenience while running mainline D&D campaigns.
The Northlands setting has been well-regarded in the tabletop community since its original release, and for groups looking for a Norse mythology alternative to standard D&D settings, this is one of the best options available on the platform.
The Northlands Bundle is available now on the D&D Beyond Marketplace.
