The Ghibli-inspired world of Obojima is making its way to D&D Beyond. Obojima: Tales from Yatamon is a 5.5e release from 1985 Games that takes players into the setting’s largest city yet.
Where earlier Obojima material focused on the wider island, Tales from Yatamon zooms in on a metropolis, from its trolley lines and festivals to the spirits or demons, hiding within.
What is Obojima?

Obojima is a kind of ‘leisure fantasy’ 5e setting drawing heavily on Studio Ghibli and Legend of Zelda style adventures. It is known for its cozy, exploration heavy tone rather than grimdark stakes.
1985 Games’ earlier Obojima book raised $2.6 million from over 23,000 backers, one of the best-funded independent TTRPG Kickstarters in recent memory. Tales from Yatamon followed with its own crowdfunding campaign in late 2025, which closed having raised $859,572 from 7,175 backers. Its arrival on D&D Beyond is part of the platform’s “Season of Magic” Partnered Content lineup, which is leaning into whimsical, magic-heavy releases.
